It’s already a week into August, but I thought it would be a good time to squeeze in my July Look Back.
So here’s a look back on the month past of all the highlights, lowlights and everything in between.
Highlights: The feeling that I’m slowly but surely working towards my goal. That at the moment I physically and mentally feel strong. I’ve also had the opportunity to meet a few great cafe owners for my Brunch Diaries series, as well as do some food photography work for one of my favourite cafes, Sassafras.
Lowlights: The overwhelming tiredness that strikes me sometimes, particularly when I’m feeling inspired to work. I’m learning more and more to listen to my body, and act accordingly: focus on re-grounding and re-freshing, do yoga and spend time with those I love.
Things to Remember: Be patient. Don’t let frustration rule you. Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments.
Firsts: Going to the night food markets in West End. Such amazing food and what a lovely, friendly atmosphere.
Lasts: Saying yes to things I feel I should say no to.
Food obsession of the month: Smoothie bowls, acai bowls, my Salted Caramel Smoothie. It’s winter and for some reason I can’t get enough of them all! Dark chocolate covered sultanas and almonds are also pretty much all I can think of right now. And coconut yogurt topped with my Banana Pecan Granola Clusters. And fresh rye toast topped with crunchy peanut butter, cherry jam and banana slices. Oh yes.
Excited for: My birthday in two weeks!
What were your July highlights?
