Serving breakfast until 11.30am, the Paleo Café winter menu boasts Warm Chia Seed Porridge with Apple, Dates + Berry Swirl; Smashed Avocado + Poached Eggs on Paleo Toast; Eggs Benedict; and Bacon + Poached Eggs with Sauteed Baby Spinach + Sweet Potato Rosti.
This morning for my brunch visit I ordered the Banana Pancakes, while my boyfriend went for the Australian classic — Smashed Avocado + Poached Eggs on Toast.
Having enjoyed the Banana Pancakes before, I knew I was in for a treat. Though not your typical pancakes, the flourless Pancakes — with slices of ripe banana cooked in the pan and served with Berry Compote + Whipped Coconut Cream — were divine.
The Smashed Avocado was also delicious, but not being Paleo ourselves, we did miss the usual thick sourdough rye. In saying that, the absence of bread and za’atar for some spice was certainly made up for by Paleo Café‘s famous Salted Caramel smoothie and a Berricool smoothie, which was packed with berries, mango and pineapple.
